A trip to the V&A, London

At the beginning of July, me and my husband managed to sneak a night away in London. The purpose of the trip was to see Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park on the Saturday night, but I managed to sneak in a quick visit to the (heavenly) V&A on Sunday morning to see their incredible jewellery collection.

We only had an hour or so before we had to leave for the train back to Leeds - and oh my goodness I wish I’d had more time. I could have spent the whole day (and more) immersed in that museum. The craft and design there is incredible. I came away feeling very inspired.

If you are an arts and crafts lover, I highly recommend a visit. Plus it’s FREE to enter - I couldn’t believe it!

Here are a few quick snaps of some of my favs, although it was very hard to photograph the jewellery behind the glass in low light with shiny reflections everywhere!

Absolutely stunning jewelled necklace.

I loved these Spanish earrings. I haven’t seen this earring shape before and was intrigued as to why they were designed/made this way, with the ‘s’ shape. I’ll be doing some research!

Absolutely heavenly dragonfly bangle and sycamore seed pendant set with moonstones. Dreamy.

I really loved this tumbling triangle necklace because it reminded me of Gustav Klimt’s artwork, one of my favourite artists.

ALL the jewels and ALL the rings, in a spiral too - my eyes must have been huge when I first saw this display! Drooling.
